Blick aufs Brett

Wald & Würfel 2026

A small group from Blick aufs Brett headed to Karlsbad-Spielberg in the Northern Black Forest for the second edition of the Wald & Würfel (Forest & Dice) event, organized by the Karlsruhe-based gaming club BrettspielSuchties e.V. Stocked with over 700 titles our gaming library featured the event and left (almost) nothing to be desired.
Over the course of three days—which included gaming sessions lasting late into the night—we were able to provide the roughly 250 attendees with both new releases and classic games. Whenever time permitted, we were happy to assist the BrettspielSuchties' excellent team of game explainers by taking charge of a table or two, to teach a game (and, for the sake of convenience, joining in on the play ourselves). We enjoyed a varied time, encountering many familiar faces as well as new ones. Highlights included witnessing a new world record for the most people playing simultaneously (155!)—a session of Miezekatze led by the game's designer, Jens Merkl, in person, as well as trying out new titles from the few publishers present (Steinbock, HABA, HeidelBär, and Biberstein), diving into a role-playing game, or simply soaking up the atmosphere in the Spielberg sports hall. Having once again been welcomed so warmly into the BrettspielSuchties' family, we are already looking forward to the third edition of this charming, delightful event. And as everyone knows: the third time makes it a tradition... You can find a recap in words and pictures on the Suchties' YouTube channel here:
